I took my unit out to explore and looks like theres 2 plugs (White and black)
The black plug goes into the back of the unit, while the white plug is not plugged into anything at all. I've read online to take out the yellow and black wire from the white plug and shift move it up one, and i've read to shift it to the left. Anyone else done this yet? See picture below |

I have finally had this done. The bypass mod was done for me by Jeff Bates @ http://www.lockdownsecuritycanada.ca/
I had to buy the RCA harness from eBay at about 50 bucks and now I can watch movies (bad idea), dial phone numbers and change locations on the GPS all while driving. |

It took me a week to figure out why I couldn't type in an address while stopped (but without the e-brake on). A manual for the unit would have been nice...

Finally got around to doing this tonight since it was warmer. Tried the softmod hack and it worked great. Would be able to type in addresses while driving and phone etc.. but video playback was still a no go with the soft mod. Pulled her out and grounded one of the pins on the back and all is well now. Everything is finally functional. Didn't end up having to buy harness which was a bonus!

There is a thread to bypass for those with the Pioneer unit. Search on here or a Google search. No need to cut wires or ground anything.
