Changing camber. Effects on toe?
TL/DR see bold question below
![]() I did a bit of searching and couldn't find the answer to my question. Perhaps someone that is familiar with this cars suspension can answer. I recently put Eibach Pro-kit springs and OEM camber bolts in my car. I drove it for a bit afterwards. Then I had to go to the dealer to get hail damage repaired, so I told them to do an alignment while they were at it. I specifically told the guy "It probably has around -1 degree of camber in the front, and I'd like to keep it that way. Just adjust the toe." To which he replied "ok." The next day when I pick up the car, I ask to see the alignment specs. Turns out they adjusted the camber back to damn near 0. I was a bit pissed, but didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so I figured it would be fine. Well, after driving it in a more spirited fashion recently, I can see that it really wants that camber back. It developed a slight push as compared to driving the car before the alignment, which bothers me. My question is: If I just loosen the strut bolts and push the hub in before tightening to get the camber back, will it throw the toe off at all? I like the toe where it is at for tire longevity reasons, and would really like that camber back.

Problem was you went to the dealer. Go to a speed shop. I have no idea how front camber works on front toe, but in the rear if you adjust from the RLCA then it fucks with the toe. Adjusting from the RUCA does not affect toe.

Your front toe will be changed when you adjust camber at the hub. Not so much from the top of the strut.

I've asked this many times. So far the best info has been on this thread.

Yeah. I only used the dealer due to convenience. Honestly, until this, the dealer hasn't been to bad and has honored all of my requests. Next time I need an alignment, I'll head to the shop my friend works at and do it with him.

As soon as you increase the camber the tyres will toe in. Can be quite a lot too.

I'd take it back to the dealer and ask them to redo it the way you asked in the first place.
Edit: Are you sure you had the camber bolts adjusted right when you installed them? tabs facing in? Normally they have no camber adjustment so the dealer really shouldn't have messed with the camber

negative camber = toe in because our steering rack is behind the knuckle. On our cars, 1 degree negative camber = 1/32 toe in
