Random Observation concerning the Curse.

I've been looking at a good majority of the photos of all the destroyed cars and it seems like a good majority of them appear to be stock and completely unmolested.

I looked at 24 pictures, 19 of which all appeared 100% stock.

Random coincidence?

How many have shown the motor, underneath the car, interior, etc. Seems like not a coincidence just a lack of pictures showing anything besides an accident. People on here have admitted to having accidents. It happens. That's why they are called accidents.

I took this into consideration as well.

I looked in every possible spot for aftermarket pieces. Rear shots I looked for exhausts, engine bay I looked for anything, even soundtube deletes, and interior shots I checked for shiftboots and headunits. The stocks were stock all around.

the curse isn't only 86 driver causing them. i was stopped at a red light, so grip or no, it wouldn't have mattered.

and yes, mine was stock

I don't know which photos you're talking about, but the factors of those getting into accidents are the ones who turn off traction control

and those who mod their car tend to try to push the car to the limit with their new setup

It seems another big factor is that the cars are small and sit low. SUVs and Pick-up trucks do not see them. My car is even smaller and lower and I cannot begin to count how many times I have had to take evasive action to avoid getting run over by some guy in a pick-up or woman in a SUV. Most of them were talking on the cell phones at the time too. Not all the accidents have been due to the owner's driving error.

I know a lot of adults who can't afford our car, never mind mod it. Kinda f***ed to put it on the kids.

Don't forget about the chirping fuel pumps! Those things are distracting!

The FR-Z is a low-visibility vehicle (particularly in black, gray and under some conditions, white). It sits lower than others cars, has relatively little reflective area and has offers poor visibility to the rear quarters for the driver. That being said, it is more likely, than for example a Tahoe, to be struck. In addition, its drivers skew younger and less-experienced and therefore have higher accident rates.
