Center locking

I know Porsche and most sports, gt and racing cars have these types of wheels. I was curious of the pros and cons of them like the wear and stuff like that. Would you recommend getting them.?

Do you mean spline drive wheels with a single big lugnut?

Pros: one nut to remove makes for much faster wheel changes in a long race.
Cons: need a lot more torque on the single nut, needs hubs/rotors meant for the wheels. The Carrera GT comes with a special torque multiplying wrench (gear driven) so you can remove the lug by hand if needed.

I'd be shocked if you could find spline drive hubs for these cars right now, and if you can they'll be ridiculously expensive.

a centre locking wheels does make it cool in real indeed... but we all know even a supercar didn't always have this... there is no evidence of better performing but you know.. more cluttering because of the special means to open it..

i have an idea for you.. get OZ Formula wheels.. they are standard wheels with a specially designed cap to make it "centre capped" look..

For the FRS/BRZ:

Pros: none

Cons: virtually everything your street car is good for. Plus, the cost of running them would be more than you would want to pay.

Interesting read on them here:

Good luck getting a wheel off on the side of the road when it's torqued to 370ft/lbs.

Yeah you can carry around an expensive snap-on torque multiplier. Unless you are driving around a Porsche GT3 leave center lock rims to the race cars.
