Is anyone running straight pipe from headers to the end ?

Lots of rasp, popping, and just noise. Probably will not sound too great. And very loud too.


The muffler deletes usually sound good as they have at least 1 cat still on the car.

I still want to hear it! I agree though, it's the muffler that makes the deep rumble. Even a v8 with straight pipes typically sounds too raspy, imo.

I believe that there is someone running a Buddy Club Spec II with a header on here which is essentially a straight pipe with a small resonator on it.

Eventually, I will be running a similar setup but with both cats. There isn't really much to gain by not running them.

High compression, high octance, straight piped V8 cars sound awesome. Ever heard a smallblock V8 before?

I would also argue that if you rev an engine over 11,000+ RPMs, it is going to sound very very good. Read F1 cars and also the superbikes.

@evilconcarne999 runs a Borla UEL , an Overpipe, front pipe and a muffler delete and trust me it sounded very very very good and surprisingly did not raps at all

I think retaining one of the cats will make the car sound very good.

Start cutting all the cats off and thinks can turn messy (sound and appearance wise).

HAD IT ! too much sound, but nice growl. did have loss of power so put in an exhaust.

except header, i had catless front pipe and berk muffler delete. it's loud but acceptable but couldnt handle rasp/drone inside car during 2-3K RPM.
