One person on here has done it, and hated it. It was way to loud and droned a ton.

I will be doing this early next year. From what iv heard all the back pressure is in the headers so having a straight pipe would not hurt anything.

Straight pipes on the FRS/BRZ sound horrible! I definitely would not recommend it if you are planning to daily drive your FRS. I see that you live in socal too, you and I know both know that's just asking for a ticket.

LOL yes, cops especially in socal are straight up ****s. But my fr-s is a weekend car. Still got my benz and integra for the daily. Who knows, trying to figure out what exhaust system to run.

It really depends on what you consider a "straight pipe". You can use piping and throw a resonator or two on there (lot of pipe running all the way from header to tail end) and it might not sound as bad as just piping. Either way, it's gonna be loud.

I think a catback straight pipe with resonator would sound amazing and be light and look good at the same time. 3" piping for turbo app with 4" tip, someone get on it.

I know its an old post, but I have my exhaust as a downpipe right on the header. Super loud, and I super love it. The fact that I cant hear my new sound system is making me put a straight pipe with a glasspack to a dual pipe in the back. Fact that I cant hear my wife complaining how loud it is makes me want to keep it haha

I bet that part I bolded will sound pretty good. I know it will be loud, but it is tempting for me to do the same.
