Check on Strange Clicking Noise and Alternating Part
I'm a new FR-S owner (~2500km) and noticed a strange clicking and off-on-off-on cycle going on under the hood (See crappy phone vid below). Wondering if this is normal for the vehicle? I briefly checked a few videos on youtube and I didn't notice any other cases with this going on.
[ame]http://youtu.be/YOs8ybf_9fc?t=8s[/ame] I also wanted to ask if anyone notices the car sounding "rough" for a lack of a better word around 2.5K RPM? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks. |

Are you referring to the A/C clutch? It clicks very loudly. The only other clicking I can hear is normal operation (injectors/valvetrain)
Turn your A/C off and made sure the vent control isn't on defrost, then check again. Seems like normal operation to me. |

Yes, this is normal operation. It's loud and annoying, and working as intended. The intermittent spinning of that pulley is the air conditioner turning on and off. This happens if you have your knob turned to defrost, or if you have the AC button pushed in. The clicking and ticking is nothing to be concerned about, it's just obnoxious, not broken.

Thanks for the feedback so far. On the link from the second post I saw the same thing so that puts issue #1 to rest. Guess the new owner worries just got to me.
Any comments regarding the "rough" engine sounds at low RPM? |
