YONAKA Coilovers Installed/reviewed
Well I was lucky enough to get setup to get one of the first sets of these coilovers sent out to me.
![]() Yonaka Motorsports is proud to introduce our all new SPEC II (TC2) coilover set for the 2012+ Scion FR-S, with 32 way fully adjustable dampening, pillow ball bushing, and adjustable camber plates. Designed with the advanced street driver or track day in mind, the Spec II TC2 is specifically engineered to accommodate even the most intense driving styles. Featuring:
Front springs: 6kg Rear springs: 8kg Mugsy's Repairs did the install and alignment for me so we could document the install for everyone. [ame="http://vimeo.com/63274591"]2013 Scion FR-S Yonaka Coilover Install on Vimeo[/ame] ON to the pics of the coilovers and the install. Before: stock suspension w/ enkie compe 16x8 ![]() Dampers: ![]() ![]() Install photos: ![]() ![]() As you can see we also threw on some SPC control arms in the rear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() REVIEW: I got to put about 10 miles on them so far. I plan to put a lot more on them tonight and tomorrow, but I had to come home to make dinner. ![]() I am currently setup on 18 clicks front and rear, which is probably a little stiffer than most would want to daily drive, but I have always driven stiff cars on the street so I am ok with this. The quality of the parts is great. Nice top plates, high quality finish on the bodies and other parts. The fit and finish is excellent and everything went together very fast and very easy. I will try to put a few more miles on this setup and get a full review going asap. Thanks again to the guys at: http://foxmarketingcars.com/ http://www.yonaka.com/ http://www.mugsysrepair.com/ Last edited by Shit Luck; 04-04-2013 at 04:09 PM. |

I got to hit some backroads tonight.
The coils felt pretty good. I could probably play with the adjusters a little more to dial them in, but the car definitely has the "go-kart" feel to it. It has good balance to it, no crazy over or understeer issues. |

I never claimed these are Penske or ohlins race level dampers. They are an entry level coilover designed to compete with other "jdm" options. |

Raceland is crap but FF i've actually heard decent things about. I'm sure these are fine for most, i like the gold finish also.

1) 16's rock! Looks like a modern 280Z.
2) Snoop Dogg/Lion instantly adds 40% more street cred. 3) Mugsy's shop has a nice impact wrench. 4) Crocs? *scratches head* Because racefeet?

That aside, we are not a vendor on here nor do we "compete" with the eastern market.

Any chance you guys could lighten up a bit? He is just trying to review his new parts.... He isn't making any kind of outlandish claims or anything. The dude works hard getting his suspension together and the first comment is "they look cheap..." Come on guys.
In any event, the car looks great. I love the wheel and tire choice. Unique for sure. Let us know how these things do after you get a few miles on them. |

No. This is a fairly new forum but the subject isn't.
The entire marketing strategy behind companies like this is to flood the market with a bunch of different "options" and individual reviews that are completely worthless so the shops and companies actually making quality products get lost in the noise. Have you picked up a car magazine lately and checked out the "product guide" section? You've got high quality stuff from KW or JRZ right next to cheap ass junk like raceland, and nothing to distinguish the good from the bad. |
