JRZ RS1 coilovers installed on Racecomp BRZ (and other RCE updates)

We have been fortunate to know JRZ USA's east coast master Bryan and have continued that relationship because....well because they are awesome. Being able to talk to and learn from arguably one of the top hardcore motorsports level coilover manufacturers in the world is an incredible partnership to have. Drawing on their knowledge has helped us in all aspects of what we do, make cars go faster around a track with better suspension systems.

Oh and because they like us enough to ask us to test a lot of their Subaru stuff for them.

(there is no play/slack in the spring...there is a solid piece above the upper spring perch that is an adaptor for use with OEM style top mount, in this case Whiteline COM-C mounts).

These are a single adjustable monotube high pressure damper. Intended as a streetable clubsport application that is capable of hardcore auto-x and track time while still being comfortable on a daily driver

Rates used were 400 lbs/in front and rear (7 kg/mm) but as with any JRZ damper tons of range on the shock to go much stiffer. Tons and tons of stroke with these as well. Even with these rates the car is very smooth. On full soft it is SOFT. Myles has put almost 300 miles on these in the last 4 days on a variety of roads with more to come. He'll chime in with more details.

Some other quick RCE updates:

- RCE Yellow springs will be here soon. Going to try to verify an ETA tomorrow (monday) for those that preordered the springs or the RCE starter kit. Still room to jump on the preorder....

- RCE Tarmac 2 coilover development is coming soon. Look for more updates this summer.

- Bilstein testing also coming eventually.

- Some other neat stuff to surprise you. As always facebook gets the first news.

- RCE T-shirts?

- It's so damn hot.

- Still working on swaybars.

This car is awesome.

Look for a new vendor thread with coilovers soon. But special BRZ/FRS intro pricing is $NOPE with Whiteline Com-C mounts.

Nice. The coils look really good. Sound like a nice serious option.

Dude it's hella hot in MD right now. I hope it's not as bad in August when I go visit the family. Ugh. Humidity, I don't miss you.

That was what my PM/email was about. I've reached out to a few shops recently and everything so far is a very custom setup, because of the front strut housings. Since it looks like they have sorted that out for the most part, I don't see why something couldn't be fitted with a stock spring and perch unless the lengths don't work out. You can use a coilover/threaded body setup as long as you weld the perches in the right place and have the stock perch. The other thing to look out for is the mounting holes are the same geometry as the stock ones... stupid Subaru for not re-engineering the front suspension.

Thanks for asking around!! I'm not too suprised. Mirroring the stock mount designs probably takes more effort than developing a coilover package. Hopefully Koni will come out with their Yellows soon! Not DA nor monotube, but reliable, adjustable enough, and rebuildable/revalveable.
