Turbo RPMs

Does anyone have a turbo kit or SC Kit that running thier rpms past the stock rev limit? Cause I plan on making mine stop at 8k rpms. Just trying to see whats a safe limit pass stock rpms with proper fuel upgrades and tunning.

Safe is a matter of opinion, and nobody knows the long term effects this will have. Some have said they don't feel safe going past stock redline. Some have gone WAY past. And others have said they don't feel safe even going to stock redline.

Unfortunately it's just too early to give a definitive answer. Someone might know but they aren't sharing enough to back anything up.

Well I called a few of the turbo companies and some said 8k is fine and some said 8.3k is fine. But just make sure its done on the dyno with upgraded fuel system and tuned professionally. Yes I did hear the 9600rpm, said nothing broke but wouldn't recommend doing that everyday lol. They was just trying to see how much abuse the motor can take. Just was trying to see if anyone that has their car TC or SC was running past the stock rev limit.

There won't be a whole lot of purpose in it until some aftermarket cams become available. Most of the turbo lots I've seen hit peak around 7-7200.

The only reason why I bumped my redline to 8k is so there's time to react to shift at redline. The car revs so quickly through the gears, the shift light indicator isn't enough. I never rev up to 8k, and I'll probably never feel safe doing it.

I'm running my FBM kit at 8k RPM on a Visconti tune. I have no worries about doing so. Power does peak around 7500 RPM though.

I haven't seen a dyno showing any peak power over about 7-7.5k

Keeping mine at stock unless cams are installed or valve springs. No real point though if peak boost is before redline.
