sound tube delete

Hey guy i got rid of my sound tube by taping it. I was just curious if this is equivalent to plugging it up. I don't see how it wouldn't be, but i'd like your opinions too. Also are there any sort of hp/tq by closing the sound tube and allowing more air to go to the engine?

1) Doesn't look as clean as a plug

2) No HP/TQ gains.

well it looks stock. It doesn't look like anything was done. idk if my picture got uploaded...

and in that case there wouldn't be any gains with a plug either right?

Yeah I don't see a pic.

No gain with a plug either. People just remove it so that it looks cleaner.

Why not remove the entire tube assembly?

Oh I see what you mean now. I guess that would look pretty clean and stock. I have the blue trd sound changer in mine which plugs the side wall and let's all the sound into the engine compartment but costs more than your solution.

I would be concerned that over time the tape could rip/come loose and get sucked into the intake.

well this is all i had at home. So this will basically be temporary until i decide to remove the system and plug it up or maybe change the intake tube to silicon or w.e

Just remove the sound generator. And plug the holes. Or get a intake tube

Much easier to do this and you can easily turn on and off for the best of both worlds

Sound is not like a liquid. Sound can travel thru a layer of tape. All you're doing is muffling it a little bit. Remove the entire tube from there to the fire wall and plug it.

I believe the tape will work as the sound is actually generated by fluctuations in vacuum, which the tape blocks.

^ This.

We offer this as a solution, may not look as stock as you desire but is completely safe at least.
