Just the flywheel. I have been told a few times that the TODA clutch is just a rebadged exedy unit. Plus i aren't planning on going FI so the std clutch should be fine for me

They're plastic region bolts so don't reuse the old ones. I'd wager 50nm +90 +45degrees would be sufficient.

Do these lightweight Flywheels come balanced or do they need to be balanced by a machine shop prior to installing? I ask because for my Vette, balancing a lightweight flywheel was recommended if installing one. Thanks...

Checked out the ARP 2013 catalogue and they don't list flywheel bolts for any Subaru engine unfortunately. If i can find the thread specs maybe something would match up though.

EDIT: I wouldn't recommend lightening your stock flywheel. Doing so can weaken it and the last thing you want is a flywheel failure at 7500rpm.

Just make sure you don't put drive plate bolts in place of flywheel bolts. The AT bolts are the same length and thread count but they do not stretch. Trying to stretch them will likely destroy your crank or break the bolt off.

I bought new bolts from Subaru when I installed my ACT flywheel/clutch. I believe they are the same part number as for the STI. If nobody gets you the torque specs, I have them printed out of the factory service manual and can post them up tonight.

I have never in my life seen a TTY bolt used for flywheels. And those torque specs do not have a degree of stretch in the specs... so I don't think they are.
I'm not saying they aren't, but if they are it will be the first I've worked on. Of course, the FSM always recommends replacement parts for critical parts regardless of whether they are requiring replacement. |
