You need to start driving more!! Most dealers will not service the car until you reach 7500.

Some will do it though

How about changing your own oil? Very easy to do!

Same here, just change your own oil. I did my own since I don't drive all that much just so I can get rid of the metals and what not inside.

My car came with two free oil changes. That doesn't alter the fact I can change my oil or have it changed whenever I want as long as I'm willing to pay for it. I paid for my 1,000 miles oil change. I will get my 7500 free.

Do it yourself. The oil filter is on top on this car. The hardest part will be getting on your back to undo the drain bolt.

Why change it right after break in? I've always read that you want to give it a few thousand miles. Honest question. I've been around cars most of my life (most of my 31 years), but I've always been told to wait longer for break in

It's probably nothing more than a carry over from habits I developed after I bought my first car in 1952. I've never had a reason to regret the habit.

Yeah, F that noise. I did my first change at 750 miles to Penzoil Platinum 5w-30 the day before my first dyno session.. I ran into the sam BS with my Evo8 needless to say i never took my evo in for service. Only time my fr-s will see the dealer is if something breaks.

No use in dumping good, highly additized (more phosphorus, zinc, and molybdenum) factory fill oil earlier than you need to. Contact Idemitsu Lubricants of America for their input.

So you take your car into the dealership to have your oil changed and they refused to perform the service? I really don't get it....

I guess your dealer and mine got different memos, OP. I got an e-mail a couple of days ago reminding me that I should be approaching 3000 kms, (~1830 miles), and that I should be getting the first oil change done on my "Toyota FR-S".

I noticed that you're in Socal also. Which dealer did you go to?
