Bass question

So I changed the settings to fade all the way to the rear and there is actually zero bass coming from the back.. is this suppose to happen in this car?

All the cars I've owned actually had bass so I'm confused am I suppose to play with the setting here ( have bass +5) or is it meant to be that way?

That's why there are 6 front speakers. It's suppose to come all from the front. The rear speakers might as well be tweeters how small they are.

the rear speakers are so tiny .. you could replace them with... well let's say rocks and you wouldn't notice a difference

In the trunk hell yes. A few guys here have them. Once you take the bass out of all the fron speakers the stock speakers actually dont sound bad.

The stock headunit has a built in crossover for the rear output. If you added a subwoofer and took the signal from the rear speakers you'd have little (no) bass. Everything is sent through the front channels.

But, man, the door speakers have some serious thump to them. I have them hooked up to a different amplifier and they can pump out some decent pass ...but they do require a bandpass-type crossover to filter out the low bass and the midbass/midrange.

Actually it's s good thing, music isn't supposed to come from behind you. Sure you can hear it, but it's not good for clarity or sound quality. Most audio gurus will ditch the rear speakers entirely and tune the front speakers for a more proper "sound stage". A sub can live in the trunk because low frequency sound is less directional than higher frequencies, so your ears have a harder time telling where the sub bass is coming from. If its tuned correctly the speakers are all timed so everything sounds like it's directly in front of you, even the sub disappears and sounds like it's right up front right with the rest of the music.
