Sound Dampening

Hey Everybody,

I'm planning on purchasing Second Skin Audio B-stock and Luxury Liner Pro when their Valentine's Day sale comes up. My plan is to quite my car down a bit, specifically at highway or interstate speeds. I intend to do this by first reinforcing the door panels and wheel wells, if I have spare materials, I will do the trunk after that.

I'll see if I can take enough pictures to write up a DIY, any suggestions are welcome as I haven't written one before. If you have experience with sound dampening on the twins or any vehicle I'd love to hear your results and what you think of it.

Cheers!

P.S. If anyone is curious I went over a bit of this on reddit.

Be sure to cover all the holes in the door before putting the panel back on. Also take the extra time to unscrew everything from the door panel and deaden all the pieces then re install them on it.

These door panels make it great for deadening since nearly everything comes off them.

Trunk looks pretty straightforward to do also, Ive just been to lazy to do that part lately. Ill prolly do it today tho.

I would get some silicone caulking (remains flexible, you can buy it in black) and use it on the window switches and door lock switches. Those rattle like crazy. Have fun with your project.
