Door control lights on?

I was thinking anout changing the LED color of the door controls and just noticed that theyre always on, even with the lights off. Is this normal? I just had a botched alarm install and I'm worrying they messed that up...

They are the same brightness as when the head lights are turned on, its just that in the day, you dont really notice. Can anyone else confirm that they stay on all the time?

My door lock/window controls are lit up all the time in all 3 lighting positions - no lights, parking lights, or head lights on. It's just designed that way, just so it's easier to see when it's super sunny outside, the interior is super dark in comparison and you can't see the buttons.

My girlfriend's Corolla entire gauge cluster stays lit up even with the head lights off during the day.
