Hate the Tires I got with my winter tires

So I'm completely newb to this.

Didn't think the steel wheels would look so bad. I should have stuck with the OEM and paid the extra cash for the 17 inch tires.

Instead I downgraded a size and got crappy wheels.

(I'm loving the tires performance on the snow though! Hard to lose traction in the worst of situations!)

Anyway, any advice for me?

Advice? Just deal with the looks of steel rims, and be reminded of their purpose. Besides, steel rims make the car look very brute and utilitarian

I love mine, the dirtier/saltier the better!

The tires you got with your tires? I know what you meant but couldn't help but point out that typo.

You mean you hate the rims you got with your winter tires?

Well... you already bought them. Just put keep them on when it's snowy/icy out, then when everything goes back to normal, put the stock all-seasons back on. Look on the bright side: they were cheaper, you will only use them in the snow/winter, and the tires work well. I was actually considering getting some cheap rims to throw winter tires on too.

Buddy of mine in college painted his steelies.

If you're in the mood to waste money, you can pick up a set of any 5x100 16" Subaru alloy wheel and it will fit.

If you think they look fugly now, wait 'till they start to rust...eww!

Seriously though, try not to worry too much about it...it's just one more thing that sucks about winter. Besides, you'll appreciate your stockers that much more when they go back on in the spring. Don't second guess yourself on the size...you'll get better grip in the white stuff with the flexy sidewall on the 16' tires.
