One touch window option

Just figured I'd drop a thread on this. Yesterday, the BRZ was outside all night, we had freezing rain etc... I have a limited with keyless, the window button (auto) were flashing and the windows would not move.(didn't drop the inch when the door opened) Back to the owners manual, there is a procedure for "UN-sticking" the windows, apparently, there is a safety sensor that measures the pressure it takes to move the windows, (ideally so you don't crush Minny-me that's riding in the back seat with his hand out the window)LOL! The Ice caused the increased pressure. Just a Nice to Know.

Any issues when opening the door if the window didnt move down slightly? Is that what caught your attention more than the lit button?

Yes I was wondering about this - thought I was going to have to crawl in through the trunk! Or, keep an ice scraper outside the car.

No, the door opened right up, that's when I noticed the flashing AUTO light on the window switch. Let me complete the story, I washed the car that afternoon, really well, then took it for a spin to dry it off, satisfied with my work, I crept down my dirt driveway and there it sat. I also washed the Legacy GT and did the same process. so I left the BRZ outside. when you "override" the safety by sitting in the car with ignition ON, not running, doors closed, press the down button 2x for 1 second each time then hold the button down a 3rd time for 3 seconds, window goes down and AUTO stops blinking, windows work as designed. I think by washing it might have aggravated the situation(water intrusion etc...) Now I know. I wonder what other hidden sensors this beast has... Maybe if your eating while driving, the maximum speed will be 20mph??? Heck IDK.

I like that feature! It's better than something breaking anyway. I haven't had that on any of my cars, but the windows broke on my old jetta when it was icy.
