Car sales and statistics
I came across this site:
http://bestsellingcarsblog.com Not sure where all stats come from. In some cases some cars might be missing. But the site seems pretty good. Anyone have other good sources? Or some cool stats? Some FR-S, BRZ, GT86 stats: Europe first 7 months 2012 -1303 GT86 sold. Availability have not been like in the US in that time period. Some EU countires have to wait until 2013 for cars to arrive. By looking at UK numbers only 2 monts later shows how availability have grown there. 979 GT86 sales in UK alone. Only 70 BRZ sales. Would be nice to see some updated EU numbers. 3152 86 sales in Japan in Oktober 2012. Making it hit 14. place of best selling cars. 20,488 Toyota 86 sales in total!! US first 10 months 2012 -8,572 FR-S sold -3,120 BRZ sold If interested in good and detailed US FR-S and BRZ stats. Here is a great thread specifically about them. A little info from Australia: The Toyota GT86 is up 182% on September to 335 sales. Other stats: -Nissan Leaf is a full electric car. Hits top 10 in Norwegian Oktober sales. Probably highest rating for an electric vehicle anywhere in the world. Prius is on 4. place -Prius is the best selling car in California. It was the number 1 best seller in Japan 2011 -World October 2012: Toyota sells one-millionth hybrid this year EU full year 2011 -By the end of 2012, the VW Golf will have been #1 in Europe for 24 of the last 30 years, and #1 in Germany for the last 32 years in a row… USA full year 2011 Ford F-series have been the best selling car/cars in the US for over 30 years! Top 170 World sales first 8 months 2012 |

Interesting, the combined FR-S/BRZ sales are close to the same as the combined 370Z and Miata sales.
FR-S has already outsold both, handily.

The report is quite satisfying.

Funny to see different car cultures around:
In Russia Lada is a huge bestseller compared to closest rivals! I bet the new 7. gen VW Golf will be a bestseller once again in the EU. Golf lineup will be huge! Should have something for everyone wanting a mid-sized family car. I will not go into detail about engine options, trim options, and extra equipment options but there are lots of engines and options to choose between on many of the models. Some of the "base models" are: -Golf -Golf Wagon -Golf Plus -Golf Alltrack -Golf Bluemotion -Golf Plug-In Hybrid -Golf CNG (gass) -e-Golf -Golf GTD -Golf GTI -Golf R -Golf Convertible (I don't think its announced yet) |

I basically came across THE BIBLE in terms of many EU car statistics. Most of which are related to emissions and engines.
I could not bother to read much. But several interesting graphs. Warning, this contains a lot of info! http://www.theicct.org/sites/default...k_2012_opt.pdf Here are some graphs I found interesting: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
