I usually check the sales results every month so I thought I would collect them all in one place. Here are the results so far and I will try to update it each month.

So the FR-S outnumbers the BRZ by about 3:1, well I guess that makes the BRZ more appealing for some people.

Already more sold in the us then Honda brought over ITRs in four years
that's why I laughed when it was called limited production

Within a month, FRS sold for that much more than BRZ? Is FRS being produced at a higher rate than BRZ?

RWD is a huge departure for Subaru, a deal-breaker for some I was told by more than one dealer regarding the BRZ. It's a better fit for Scion/Toyota out of the gate, plus there's a price advantage. I'll be curious to see how sales hold up over time for Subaru. Hopefully they'll do well, I've been driving Subarus for decades and was all but ready to leave the fold based on current styling trends, but the BRZ brought me back.

Toyota will be importing two to three times as many FR-Ses than Subaru will BRZs. This is reflected in the plant production too. Subaru has said they want the BRZ to be more rare, but we'll see what the production number look like in a year or two. Considering how well they are selling, I think we'll see a large jump in BRZ production. But the GT86/FR-S will always outsell the BRZ due to Toyota being a sheer juggernaut in auto sales. Being a Subaru fan, I'm ok with this since every car that comes from the Gunma plant means more $$ in Subaru's coffers.

I doubt the FR-S sales exactly 86 in May. I remember back then some non-86er took delivery of their cars in this forum and happy about it. I guess those were just not recorded until June.

FR-S sales numbers for June 2,684. USA Today.

It is doing exactly what Toyota wanted in America, revitalizing Scion to heights it hasn't seen in 4 years.

I wonder how the sales will be this month considering I haven't heard of any new ships docking in the US for the past several weeks, and most of the allocation on the lots has long dried up.

Jack Hollis said in an interview that he thinks they will sell a lot within the first few months because of all the enthusiast's. After the first year, I see this being an S2000 all over again.

yeah no way will they ever sell 25k unit month They would have to add the convertible, and sedan..then maybe they will jump up to like 3,500 units a month....that's 42,000 units a year...
The reason why there was over 2600 units sold in June because it was for initial demand. FR-S units will be sitting on dealers lots come November... |

the more they sell, the more aftermarket parts wil be in demand, the cheaper the parts will be.
this is very good for the consumers. |

If you want a cheap aftermarket buy a mustang or a civic, the frs/brz will never have a cheap aftermarket. That's just the way it goes. I'm not saying you can't afford it, but if anyone is buying this car because they think it will be easy to mod as in cheap then they are going to be disappointed.
