My Work Wheels on Galaxy Blue , Now lowered

Hello Guys,
I thought I would post some pictures up on my gts with satin black Work wheels. I was inspired to get these wheels after seeing the original Work promotional car with the 18x9.5 wheels.

I just wanted a little bit more practical fitment so got a set through the group buy. It is still totally stock suspension wise, but i do have Tein Flex coil overs to put on with Cusco rear lower arms and bracing. I wanted to see how differnet it felt compred to the stock size/ rims.

I used 245/35 18 in Pirelli Corsa tyres all round. The rears are stretched and the fronts sit nice and square.

So what size are these? Offset and width specs. The group buy stuff got deleted so I'm not sure what the specs were..

I like that it looks good at stock suspension too.. I'm scared of buying things that rely on alignment settings to even fit.. when you are paying 700 a wheel, I don't want to be defected for them haha

If it was the group buy they were 18x8.5 +38 front and 18x9.5+ 38 back

Are they Directionale front and rear, or did you find some Asymmetricos?

I'm thinking about trying Directionale on the rear despite Pirelli not recommending it.

Where did you get them?

They are the directional tyres all round. I figure with the modest horse power and weight of the car they will be good.

How would this make the car slower? The feel pretty much the same weight as the original factory wheels and tyres. The diameter is within 4mm. If anything it makes it quicker in a straight line due to the grippier tyre. I fitted them last night so have not had a chance to try it out on a twisty road.

Remember toyota intentionally fitted a tyre with limited grip so customers could feel the limits much more easily. I am sure its not going to be as easy to drift.

Needs to be lowered? I am fitting tein coil overs. I want to develop this car in steps so I can understand what each change does to the cars handling. I will fit the coil overs then go back to the original tyres to see how it compares. I cant see me dropping it more than 25mm. It already has a long low nose that scrapes driveways stock.

Looks good although 8.5" all round would have suited better imo. Ride height looks OK, but for street cred it would need lowering about 20mm. They're a really good looking wheel the Kiwamis.

I'm not completely sold on the rim edge poking out. A + 50 rim would have looked better on the rear I think.

If it makes it to the track I would get a set of enkei rpf1 in 17 x8

probably +45 would what you are after.

but looking at WheeDude's thread he has been running many 9.5+38 wheels but they don't poke out much. i guess he runs a bit of negative camber and it will be better once lowered.

He is out at brendale.
