BRZ smart access customization (unlocking all doors)

If you have a BRZ with samrt access. you all know that the key only unlock the door that you are approaching (default setting). i have read throught the owners manual and it tell you to go to the dealer to perform custom setting to your desire. Well as being a tech at a lexus and seeing this car is mostly toyota influence including the smart access. I tried something with the remote to see if it works on a subaru smart access like it does with lexus. And yes it does work so i will pass it on to fellow BRZ with smart access so you dont have to drive to the dealer to get it done or be charge with it (lexus we do it for free the first time on all customization and will charge after, not sure how subaru does it.) To Unlock both doors when approaching the driver door. be inside the car key off (dont push the start button) hold lock and unlock button for at least 30 seconds and you will hear the door lock responding. once you hear that go outside lock the door and pull on the door handle to see if both doors unlock. There are a few settings but it should not take you more than twice to get the right set up. settings will eventaully cycle through if you do it a few times. It only took me 1 time to get the setting i want. Hope this helps
my setting is at both doors unlock when i approach either doors.

Our AUDM cars don't beep and its pretty annoying

Your dealer should be able to turn that on via TechStream.

Yep, I thought they had a mechanism to do that... but they had no idea when I asked them during my 1000k inspection. Do other Toyotas (i.e. Camrys/Corollas) have this sort of function? If so

I think the aussie dealers are either too lazy or incompetence.

i asked about having the interior light not turned on when you get close to the car but they said it can't be done although the manual clearly said it can.

yep, it's pretty standard. tell them it's a customization set via techstream.

Or if you're the tech type, you can buy the USB cable on ebay and a lot of those will come with bootleg copies of techstream, so you can do it yourself.

I found one on ebay here

Do you know what other things you can configure with Techstream? I have a few things in mind that would be great!
  • power folding mirrors linked to the ignition..
  • preventing the DRLs from dimming when in parkers/low beams modes
  • DRLs linked to the proximity key detection area (i.e. DRLs come on when dome lights first come on instead of waiting for handbrake down)
  • auto-locking when key is out of the detection zone
  • auto-locking at >30km/h etc
  • 'Guide me home' low beams that stay on for a few minutes after car is turned off
  • automatic door unlock when car is turned off
  • automatic window closing on lock
  • Beeps when car is locked/unlocked
  • automatic left-mirror parking assist on reverse selection

EDIT: also where is the OBDII port on these cars? should be <2feet away from the steering wheel right? I'll have a crawl under soon...

EDIT2: I found your thread . Thanks for the info there. I'll look into getting one and seeing what it can do. They are pretty cheap.

Just realised this whole thread is in the wrong section. But ah well...
Does anyone have anything like this but for the FR-S/BR-Z/86?

http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...lectronics.pdf
It's basically a list of allll the customisable electronics settings for the tundra, through techstream interface...
