Scion, where are all of the customization options?
Wasn't Scion created to appeal to the younger crowds and tuners with many customization and modification options from the dealer? On Scion's website the only thing that seems to be available is choice of color, bespoke, a paint protection film, and a cargo mat.
Are those the only options we are going to see from Scion? No different wheel selections, goofy stripes, lip kits, anything? This is something that Ford offers on a massive scale for the Mustang and they have done very well with it. But for a car that is considered to be a tuner car, from a tuner dealer, we have nothing? Can we expect to see options in the future? Is this current model essential the purest, plain jane base model so they could quickly generate some sales before diving into the accessory options? |

Toyota was able to adjust the original market image to fit Scions brand image, very easily with a bit of play on words, but its core values do not match up. Unlike the xB, tc, xa...whatever....which Toyota built soly for the intended american market youth. FR-S does not share the same intentions, although Scion still continues to push their tuner friendly image onto the FR-S, i think its only scratching the surface of its true heritage. This BRZ commercial feels much more at home and alive, and gives more substance to the car. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjWaz4M4qy8"]BRZ[/ame] On the other side of the same coin is Toyota's more aggressive ad campaign [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yVpMUieEPs"]86[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGcrCL5z8Y"]86[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JX9UNQt2gA"]86[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv0vsfxitJg"]86[/ame] Take into consideration of these two images....directed at enthusiasts at the grassroots level. Then trying to merge that value its way into this image of what tuner are..through Scion. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm9dOM9_XEM"]Scion[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEdSglFfooY"]Scion[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1uwRJ1vpyQ"]Scion[/ame] Now i do expect Scion to pick it up later on during the lifespan of the car, offering more "tuner parts" available through Scion dealers. As the american market adjusts itself to accept the FR-S more internationally geared framework.
