Going to try out my 2025 GR86 at Autocross for the first time this weekend. Got a couple of questions:
1. What’s the recommended starting tire pressure? Running 245 RE71RS. 2. On my last car I just pushed one button to turn off traction control… is it basically the same on the GR by turning on track mode or is there something more to it to put the car in the right mode for Autocross? 3. Anything else? |

Welcome to the fun.
1. RE's like higher pressures. I have a DST first gen (coilovers, etc) and run 35psi up front, 33 rear. I was running 30/28 earlier this season thinking with coilovers and stiffer sidewalls, lower is better. Wrong. 35 seems to be the ideal pressure for both grip and feel. Night and day difference. 35/33 should be a good starting point. 2. Press and hold the traction control one closest to you for 5 seconds. Two orange lights will appear on the dash. You're good after that. Track mode only turns things off about 70%. 3. Have fun and don't expect to be top in class or at the event. I think I was literally 48th out of about 50 at my fist event back in 2010. Do go get a ride along with other people and see how they drive and what the car is capable of - especially other twin owners in DS and DST/CST.

Take out your wiper and turn signal fuses. Pro tip.
