Please help - thumping sounding issue with accelerating with turned wheels

Hi all,

I am having an issue with my 2020 BRZ that i just started noticing recently now that its cold (not sure if its related to the cold).

When I reverse out of my driveway ill turn the wheel so that my back end rotates. Then ill start to go forward and ill turn the wheel to the other side to start driving in the lane but when i accelerate slowly there is a thumping sound at the front of the car which causes the front to slightly shake. It doesn't matter which way i turn. Once the car is straight or close to straight the thumping stops. The only mods i have are camber bolts up front with -1.7 degrees and stainless steel brake lines. Any ideas? Thanks very much in advance.

a video would help. also get out and check the clearance around the front tires with them turned slightly-- could be part of the fender liner

on my truck, that's exactly the scenario that my front tire will catch the edge of my mud flaps, and make that noise.

but i suspect you have neither mud tires, or big floppy mud flaps.

Thanks! I will get a video but interestingly, once i drive for a few minutes i cant replicate the issue. It will only happen again once the car sits for a while and 'cools down'. Ill need to wait a bit before going back out and getting a vid.

Do you have wider tires? Do you have snow tires?
Not exactly sure what physics would be involved in larger tires causing this just because they are cold.

Is it icy where you take off from your driveway?

well clearly, tires swell when they absorb the water from driving in the winter. which causes them to rub.

physics has no place in reality, apparently.

Maybe low tire pressure and/or flat spotting? Once you get moving they even out...?

Another thing I could think of would be potential ice/snow build up in your wheels causing them to be (temporarily) unbalanced?
But then that should give you thumping even while going straight...
