2 Quick Questions

1. Is the Evap and the Charcoal purge canister the same connector or are they 2 different connectors.

2. Is ECUTEK racerom free, Can I just buy the cable and the license because it seems like it is but ft86speedfactory.com has an option for racerom here https://www.ft86speedfactory.com/ecu...l#.XqZJocBlBPY

So could I spend $600 on the kit instead of the $1000

1. Don't know about the EVAP system.

2. Sort of. You only need the RaceROM Upgrade if you plan on building your own tunes. The standard ProECU license allows you to load RaceROM enabled tunes onto the car
  • If you buy the Ecutek Tuning Package, you get a license to access the ProECU Software, plus the ProECU BRZ features, which has a few basic RaceROM options enabled (more of a flavor than the full suite). See this link: https://www.ecutek.com/Products/Reta...res/ProECU-BRZ

you only need extra racerom license if you do tune by yourself

if you need help, and want to save money on the racerom license,i do have it

the carbon canister system, when deleted, offers you 1 auxiliary input and 1 output
You use inputs for sensors but you will use that free output to command a wastegate for your turbo
You'll need racerom license to tune that by yourself

The reason i ask about that sensor cable is because I have the flex fuel sensor wired to the evap on the connector block under the passenger side dash. I also have my electronic boost control is wired to the cpc behind the intake. I just realized that might actually be the same circuit.

Thank you for the replies on ECUTEK RaceRom

NVM it just dawned on me that they are different systems because the Flex fuel sensor outputs a steady voltage 1-5V for the E content and the CPC valve is set to a steady 5V pwm output with a duty cycle. Therefore they have to be different systems

The Cpc it technically considered an output as well
where as the EVAP is concidered an input

ecutek has built in boost control , flex and more but to access that stuff you will need the racerom extension software . The base ecutek kit only allows nasic access to rom ie all the standard tables, but none of the fancy ecutek stuff you need for boost flex speed density closed loop fuel control.

the CPC os set up to purge charcol canister, it will take a lot of code rewriting to make it into boost control system , especially with feedback to map sensor and to disavle the current function and dtc codes
