OFT - need to manually load tune files?
I'd like to get OFT Stage 2 tune to go with a planned header (FT86 catted UEL) and exhaust (Perrin) upgrade on my car. OFT's website says their tunes are compatible with all 2019's. But when I've communicated with them, they say I'll need to "manually load the tune files to my PC" because they have an "order of magnitude issue with 2017+ ROM's".
In addition to not having a Windows PC (all Apple here), I'm a little confused about having to manually load tune files from the web. If it's just a matter of loading software onto their tablet, why don't they do it before selling it? Has anyone used OFT (and especially Stage 2) on a 2019 BRZ? How easy or hard is it? Thank you! |

Do you already know exactly 100 % which stock tune you have right now? Subaru has released like 2 different tunes every year lately for the newer cars
And OFT only flash tunes with the same calid of the stock ecu They probably want you to marry the oft first so you know which tune is it on right now, then you go to oft website and download the tunes that match your calid and load them with the software openflash manager |

I don't know which stock tune I have, and what you said makes sense. I think I'll talk with a couple of local tuner shops that specialize in Subarus and see if they are comfortable with the 'manual loading' - the last thing I want to do is put on the header and exhaust, and then find out that I can't install the tune making it all useless. |

Oft will work, you just need to put the correct tunes on it
And you don't need a subaru mechanic to do this, they probably haven't even the experience with OFT, you are supposed to do all by yourself and it s not that difficult |
