Changing rear turn signal color

Howdy gents was wondering if it's possible to change the Amber tail lights on a my17 BRZ. I want to change it to red instead of the Amber ones

Of course. Just change the bulb. You may want to check to see if it's legal in your state.

The easiest way would be a film over the lights, or it's opening up and replacing LEDs which is not simple. Why red over amber?

Not terrible though. A little chipquik and a hot air rework station makes the job go decently. Anyone that's done smd reflow work can accomplish it, the reflow technique is well documented. I believe they're using luxeon rebels for the rear signaling, which are straight forward enough to locate from a number of the typical electronic supply sources.

But i wouldn't recommend it as a first foray into smd soldering, as all the solder pads are underneath the chips, so reflow techniques are required, and reflow paste solder goes bad faster than most hobbyists can use it!

You would have to essentially bake the tail lights like how you would with head lights, replace the LED with red ones that have the same draw as the existing ones (testing required) then resolder them on and finally reseal them

The safest way if you're not electrical savvy is to just buy a set of VLANDS and mod those.
