Welcome to the forum.

If your trunk won't open, try the key in the trunk key-hole. The valet button, on the left side of the trunk, probably got pushed on accident.

thanks for replying back to my post. My concern is to fix the issue and not use the key on the key hole in the back of my trunk. Would you know anyone that would have the parts to replace it and how much will it cost?

Did you use the key? After you do, look at the left side of your trunk, your valet button has accidentally been pressed! Push it and it will fix the problem.

Like said, check the valet button before thinking you need replacement parts.

Very common issue, searching helps using google.

Welp, the fellows pretty much explained on what is going on here. Your manual also gives you some insight.

Now, I suggest you make a post and thank ol @Leonardo for his help. After you post at least 10 times, a "thanks" button will appear at the bottom of peoples posts, where you can thank them.

On my car I have to hold the trunk button/FOB button to open it. Just pushing it doesn't do it.

Good tip for a newbie -

How many out there remember when you got only two keys to a car - one opened the doors and trunk, the other turned the ignition on? In the dark you could tell because one key head was rounded and the other was angular.

Back then we didn't have to:

* worry about FOB batteries running low

* wonder which FOB button to push to do what

* worry about a spare; the second set was simply wired up under the car

* be concerned about someone remotely skimming your FOB signal

* didn't have to pay the dealer hundreds of dollars for a spare key

* be annoyed by a big bulky thing in your pocket; just two small keys on a key chain

* by the time the keys wore out, it didn't matter because the lock was so worn that you could use a bent 8 penny nail to turn it

* what did I miss -

humfrz - stuck in the 50s
