Trunk opener button
How do you pop open this assembly? I was turning up my dash board lights and I pushed the wheel in. I want to push it back out. Thanks

I would just get a flat head screwdriver with a towel on the end. Then wedge it in and pop it. Or get on the floor and look up and see if you can pop the panel from the back

The shop manual shows it coming off as a single large piece.
![]() Shouldn't be too hard to get to. The lower dash below it comes off with 2 or 3 bolts and the side panel just pops off in your hand. Looks like it's just one screw in the side of the panel once those are out of the way. Quote:
![]() They are sharp enough to get under the edges of trim pieces, but soft enough not to gouge anything. They make interior work so much easier. Most HF stores have them in stock. |

Thanks all. I think I'll use the screw driver method. Or I'll take it to our service garage to have it looks at. Hopefully no need for a new part.

DO NOT DO THIS.
Pop the plastic trim off between the dash and the door. Take out a couple of screws or just one iirc and that whole piece comes off.

Hahah. Yes, I had a good chuckle from this. But really, I literally put a big if pressure on it to go up and it was pushed in!

You should take it to the dealer and have them replace the button... sounds like you got a defective one.
Wouldn't take another chance with it since it COULD occur again.
