Searching on the internet I found conflicting opinions.
Never put a camber bolt on top hole on front, there's slip risk!
Never put a camber bolt on bottom hole, there's breaking risk!
So, what's the truth? Eibach and SPC sell bottom 14mm camber bolts, Whiteline sells 16 mm upper bolt...

Put the right bolt in the right hole, torque to spec, check periodically. Imho once per year for a casual DD car makes sense.

Regarding safety precautions to prevent slip:
1) don't use camberbolt if aftermarket strut is hole is slotted
2) it's easier if you mark with line of white paint after tightening position, so you can easily see if it has moved
3) use loctite or alike (have heard miscelaneous varieties, like generic paint to nail polish) for bolts to enhance contact/friction/prevent movement). This were mentioned in relation for more secure mount on slotted struts to prevent possible movement, but probably will work also with camberbolts.

But in general usage of normal camberbolts is safe enough. Yes, they are a bit weaker then stock bolts of a bit larger diameter, but most often if you brake camberbolt, there has been that heavy hit to suspension that also may bend suspension parts, that would have been bent even with stock.

I have the SPC lower bolts and the camber maxes out around -1.5 degrees. I’ve done 4 track days and daily driving on them, no issues noticed.

The bolts seem overkill strong and your biggest worry are alignment shops that don’t properly torque them.

Install correctly,

The shank that contacting the strut surfaces are same O.D. as your factory bolt. The Cam is contacting your spindle. If your spindle is in Negative camber its at angle that would favor hitting bumps since its forcing a Tilt ( / ) . Also if you do the 14mm stock in the 16mm hole tighten efficiently and a tip I have done in the past is spot weld it slightly. Not crazy so if you ever set it again you can knock it off with a hammer and chisel.
