for AT, turbo or supercharge?

planning for the future, for an AT BRZ, which is a better option? i don't want super crazy 300-400whp, just want about 270whp and 220lb-ft torque, don't want to stress the motor too much. which route should i pick? turbo or supercharge?

Well both will give you that, the tuner would adjust the amount of boost. Question is which one would you prefer?

“270whp is all I want “ they say

Couple months later ...... “400whp doesn’t seem too bad”

Couple thousand dollars later “build the engine and more boost!!!”

No it doesn’t apply to everyone but that’s usually the case lol but I would say turbo yes it’s more “complicated” to some people but leaves more room for upgrade in the future. But that’s just my opinion do as you please lol

It's okay, you get 450 whp and it seems like nothing after a week or two.

I swear I put a full blown kit on my frs and it was good till I bent a rod after the first couple weeks so I skipped the second step in my previous comment and went straight to fully built lmfao

I am partial to the edelbrock kit, but would swap out the at first.

Turbos have more potential and cooler noises though.....

Turbo.

You have longer gearing.

There's a thread of people swapping out our rear diffs to an IS300 LSD for the longer gearing

I would say supercharger, Harrop Supercharger. But wait until they get the CARB legal since your info suggest that you are in Cali.

this has gone off topic a little. from mechanical stand point, for traditional automatic transmission, supercharge or turbo is better? or it doesn't really matter?

I have been very happy with my Edelbrock E-Force supercharged Automatic FRS. And for you it's CARB legal.
