Worth shaving Hankook R-S4?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of 225/45-17 Hankook R-S4s on 17x7 TrakLites. The R-S4 is molded to a tread depth 0f 9/32" I was thinking of having them shaved to 5/32 as they will only be used for HPDE (about 12 days this year) plus 2-3K miles to and from the tracks. I've got a stock 2013 BRZ if it matters.

Is it worth having them shaved, or is it a waste of time and money for their intended use?

thanks!

If you want 12 days from them and you are relatively quick (hard on tires) dont shave them. They will make the 12 days by a hair if you use them from full thread. They dont become "slicks" like many r-compounds that have very superficial thread patterns, their patterns run very deep, by the time they are becoming slick you will see coord.
