I thought some of you US guys might enjoy this.

This is what happens when a hurricane, now denied of it's warm ocean water meets a tough North Atlantic storm.

You bring up the relief effort and the end of Maria.

The cause of it is what I'm concerned about. A fringe outside source suggests that Rossby waves, the unprecedented expansion of the northern jet stream covering the middle reaches of Mexico may have been a major factor.
Even the surge of wild and natural fires during the summer had been suggested for increased hurricane activity as well as the earthquake where the Cocos-Mathematicians Plate pushed the fault line 10 meters north.

The unusual Luz Verde luminance, Northern lights and Lightning over Mexico City before and during the Earthquake had to be observed.

Hmm. Maybe I tempted fate. Ophelia hits this morning. It will just have dropped from cat 1 to "Post tropical storm".

I expect it won't be any worse than our North Atlantic depressions we get once or twice a year. Forecasting a max (20% chance) of 50mph sustained and 80mph gusts. Not uncommon over here.

My neck of the woods is on the lee side, North East Ireland, so it will be a wee bit windy and a bit wet.
