Best tire size for 17x9 wheels

What tire size are people running for mostly track duty light street duty on 17x9 +42 squre wheels on stock suspension? No rubbing please.
235? 245? 255? 265?

I see mostly 245 being run on 17x9. But you can get away with 235 or 255. Some tires run wide/narrow so they work too.

I think 245's for championship and match tours and 255's for Pro Solo's because of the taller gearing.

245-40-17 is the standard choice, same diameter as stock, I think 255 has been run on stock suspension but it is a bit taller or shorter depending on the profile size.
