The other day my car died when I put her in 5th from stop. I was just trying to beat that minivan that cut me off but it didn't quite work out.

Sometimes, the jar is really hard to open and you need to put it under hot water first.

Although written like an old SNL sketch the OP has a valid question.

John, is the car stock?
Is there any pattern to when you have issues?

so to be serious and address your question fren

Do you have any mods whatsoever? For example maybe a tune from Ecutek or OFT?

EDIT: Based on your previous threads, are you still having issues with your MAF as well?

I have noticed this on multiple cars and always attributed it to air humidity and temperature. Car runs better in cooler temperature and when it's humid outside. I believe BMW M4 GTS has a water injection system that humidifies the air in the intake (is that how it works?) so I'm guessing it's something like that. Cause yeah, definitely some days it feels like the car has more oomph.

Also I noticed when I drive it AFTER I have already driven it once and it sat for about an hour or so, so the fluids are still warm, it really flies.

May-be it's the loose nut behind the wheel, (good luck finding a wrench to fit it or a Torque spec).
