PCV Valve maintenance interval

I'm wondering what the typical mileage you'd want to change your pcv valve at. If it matters, I probably have about 1/5 - 1/4 quart of oil consumption by 3000 miles after 85,000 miles.

Bubba says to take it out and shake it ..... if it doesn't rattle, throw it away and put in a new one. If it does rattle, throw it away and put in a new one.
