Bug removal

Hello all,

I have a rather nice collection of bugs on the front of my car. Gave the car a good wash and there is still a ton of bug guts left. What products does everyone use/recommend.

I've used Dupont #7 bug and tar remover. I've been using the same bottle for the last 20 years. Mind you it will strip everything off of the finish so wash the spot and reapply wax and you're good to go. There are a ton of products out there as well.

DO NOT use some of the cheap ones (i.e. the Turtle wax bug and tar remover) They just sort of put some kind of finish over top of the bug juices that seal them in nicely.

Alternatively you can clay bar it. Not sure how much bug is left. I usually use a low power pressure washer to get the solid stuff off, wash, then clay it as necessary.

I use car washing soap and warm water along with one of those mesh covered sponges.

How would you guys clean a bug that's splat under the headlight? It's not too far in but can't scrub it with a mitt.

Use the edge of a washcloth like dental floss. or a soft toothbrush.

Pressure Washer (I use 1900psi) makes car washing a breeze. A few seconds with the pressure and the bugs are gone.
