GT5 tsukuba times (FT-86)

surprised there's no thread on this (or maybe I didn't search hard enough), but I figured if we're gonna be posting time attack results, might as well do it at one of the keystone time attack tracks in Japan: Tsukuba!
I find the competition to be more fun when people stick to the same car, so keep it FT-86. G's sports are ok as well, I'm up for some N/A vs. Turbo anyways.

FT-86
Tires: Racing Soft
Hp: 404 all engine (N/A)
PP: like 593
Time: 0:55.672
Hardware: Controller! I aint stinkin' rich, punks!

The lack of the ability to put a GT wing on this car is very annoying on the final curve, but meh.

Still in the process of tuning the suspension and gearing. Just figured I'd go ahead and get the thread started.

It just stinks we won't see a FT-86 in Forza till at least the next release. Otherwise I would gladly run FT-86 times with ya.

Having a Driving Force Pro(PS2) that I use on the PC, the Xbox controllers is probably the next best thing. Clutching on the DFP is painful compared to the Xbox controller while the steering is definitely better on the DFP. The newer DFP should work on the PS3 but it doesn't on the Xbox360 . I got one for $75 through Fleabay, still works 3 years later, and I run it on full forcefeedback .

I like Tsukuba way more than the 'Ring

FT86 Concept
0:59.930 White time

I was pretty happy to break the 1 minute mark without any power increase or weight reduction!

Only assist is Level 1 ABS (controller is hard to modulate so...)

236hp (unmodified but 'broken in?')
1000kg
Body/Chassis: Reinforcement only
Engine: Nothing
Intake: Nothing
Exhaust: Nothing
Turbo: Nothing
Transmission: Nothing
Drivetrain: Everything (Twin-plate clutch, Semi-race flywheel, LSD (10/50/20), carbon driveshaft)
Suspension: Full race adjustable
Brakes: set to 6/8
Tires: Racing soft.

O_o, holy shit dude, you sure by suspension you don't mean "solid metal tubes where the springs and struts should be"?

Who needs springs when there's air in the tires?

54.937...nearly tore out my hair trying to get that too....the 54.9 mark taunted me for about 2 hours.

Just remembered I'm still running the factory transmission, so I haven't been able to fiddle with the ratio's to match the track.

Off the top of my head my suspension settings where:
Height: -20/-20
Springs: 9.5/10.5
Dampers(Ext):6/6
Dampers(Com):5/5
Anti-roll: 5/5
Camber: 2.3/1.5

54.9 Thats Impressive!!

I could only post a best 55.8 Last night, didnt have enough time to fine tune so will see if i can be as quick! - Need some practice sessions in Ichi's lounge.

Agree on needing the rear aero, had some nasty bounce out of the hairpins

I'm getting mid to upper 58's with my FT. Does anybody know their shift points around this track or do you guys use the gear indicator?

Don't know how that setup would work with the lightened, big power cars. And it even 'feels' rough in the game. Kind of 'chatters' sometimes.

What are you big power guys' speeds crossing the finish line? I'm crossing at around 164 km/h (102 mph) if I enter the last corner decently.

I'm down to 0:59.415 now with the same setup. I swear if I were even remotely consistent, and could string all my good sections together I would be low 58s...

What mods? I use 2nd for the hairpins, 3rd for the 'kink' under the bridge/arch, and 4th for the final sweeper.
