FT-86 N2 at Tsukuba
Ok, now that I have your attention....yes I know, that was heartless....
I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in running an N2 style FT-86 race at Tsukuba on GT5? To all you boost-junkies out there that would require N/A tuning only. Any takers? |

That Would be the equivalent of Comfort Hard tires on GT5. There is no more N2. With that low grade of a tire it would be pointless other than drifting the course.

I was wondering the same thing. What tires did N2 ran? Comfort, Sports or Racing? Either way I'm down with it. I like NA ver of FT86 feels. Just let me know when and I'll try to be online.

Is what I'm talking about. Interesting that you would know about the 80's N2, and not about BMI's AE86 N2 they've been doing since ~2004. Edit: Also, since an FT-86 N2 doesn't officially exist, I think we can just mark our own tire requirements for the sake of having fun. Even then so, its just a video-game....I Mean, we can do comfort's only, I don't mind. Would be interesting to see who could out-drift me. =P @ichi- I'll have to find out exactly what tire type they're using. I know they're allowing GT-wings in the new N2 now though. It might be Sports Hard to Soft. No way private ppl can buy Racing tires.

Let me see If I can hit 1 min w my AE86 in Tsukuba w Sports soft tires. If I can then that mean they're using Sports tires. iirc my AE86 has 230ish-hp, so it's fairly even out w N2 86 right?

K, I just ran w my AE86 which has bout 255hp. I ran w Sports soft & Racing hard. Here's the time 5 laps (I highly doubt N2 are running w Racing Soft tires, so I didn't use it.)
Sports Soft Tires - 1:04.521 Racing Hard Tires - 1:03.338 I think, using Racing Hard Tires are good enough for our race. iirc Racing Hard tires aren't that too expensive as Racing Soft tires, so everyone can get em without problem (15k for Racing Hard & 36k for Racing Soft). My mild tuned FT86c is recording bout 01~02secs w Racing Hard, so that's pretty good enough, I think. I'll let you decide on the tires. Either works for me. FYI my fully tuned FT86c w Racing Soft tires runs in 55~56secs 10laps straight (fastest is 54.918). |

we are actually thinking about that just like what we have right now, my AE86 street and my brothers AE86 N2 (current build), we are thinking doing same on the modern chassis well this time the street will be brand new and the N2 will be used. of course the body will be wider and some ridiculous wider rims and slick tires, right now I cant see how the FT86 will look like but sure we are up to it, ITB's, dry sump & crazy redline RPM but a lot of research is needed as soon as production starts.
