Welcome to ye ol forum .......

Yep, some will.

However, for those new fangled rear facing ones, with a detachable base, may limit how far the front seat can be moved/tilted back.

( @Tcoat this is a different picture .....)

Front facing yes, rear facing no.
So if the kid is under 2, no. Unless you take the passenger seat out.

That would be true .......until they can buckle themselves up ...... by then, they are close to being too big ...... (except on very short trips).

I take an 8 & 6 yr old once a week from math class (1/2 hour ride) and they fit just fine without a passenger in the front. The 8 yrs old goes on passenger-side rear seat and the passenger seat can be pushed forwarded to allow enough leg room. It's challenging for the 6 year old on the driver-side rear but it can be done.

My 5 year old sits in the back seat fine with no seat/booster (he's 4'2" tall).
He even buckles himself, which is really nice.

However, he has been in the back seat since about 2. We were able to do front facing without any issues. Rear facing can be done if your front passenger is really short and you don't have a huge seat.

That's the thing, since 2012 ALL the rear facing/convertible child seats are huge.
