2017 BRZ On Dyno vs 2013 FRS on Dyno
Zaku from FT86club.com getting a baseline for the 2017 BRZ
Vid is here for pretty much no reason hahaha [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bESpElAWeH4"]Zaku 2017 BRZ on PTUNING Dyno - YouTube[/ame] The car is baseline about 400 miles after break in The 2017 average about 177-178whp on Dyno. The 2013 FRS of similar mileage Dyno is 159-160whp The 2015 BRZ of similar mileage Dyno is 163-164Whp Graph will be provided below, https://imgur.com/a/qJTgR My apologies that 2015 data is missing, this is a quote from 2015 owners. for fun there is a 13 with E85 added into the mix Also provided is a Data of a Stock FRS from 2013 and one with E85 Please remember this is mostly to give an idea but is not very technical data. Things like temperature and humidity can effect Dyno data greatly. I mostly did this to know where my car stands atm, thanks Enjoy. Special thanks to @ptuning @Mrc@ptuning

It will be interesting to see tuning results on the 17. One reason I think this comparison is legit is the convergence of tq and hp when it climbs out of the dip.

Looks about right to me. The general shape of your torque curve comparison chart (2017 vs. 2013) looks almost identical to the OEM comparison chart, except maybe the very top-end:
Appears the 2017 models will be slightly quicker.

Gains are small, but then again changes were not that big off to start with. Free-er flowing airfilter (thus +5whp from dropin aftermarket filter in pre-17 will put curves much closer), slightly wider diameter header tubes, slightly less sharp angled intake tube, a bit reworked throttle spider. I guesstimate for butt dyno to feel acceleration differences from fitted as stock different ratio FD way more then from engine changes. But it also can be retrofitted with ease.
I'm more liking possible handling improvements from sach dampers & more rigid body, also more usable 'track' mode. VSC Sport was too intrusive. |

Nice, not bad at all.
I'm getting ready to do the exact same thing next weekend to compare my '13 FRS to my '17 BRZ.

Imo the difference is probably 10 to 12 horsepower when both ecus are on the same page.

Is that a manual 2017 with the new Aluminum Intake bychance? Because the motors can be entirely the same. With the new intake the car may have a more aggressive tune.
