Noob needing wheel help

Never swapped rims before thinking about getting these budget gunmetal ones.

https://m.summitracing.com/parts/vsw-425-7718gm38

Im wondering if these wheels are decent and also if they would accept the factory lug nuts.

1. Yes they would accept the factory lug nuts
2. I would recommend a hubcentric ring to correct the hub size of the wheel (73.1mm) to our hub size (56.1mm)

Now for those wheels specifically, I have never heard of that brand and would NOT trust an unknown wheel that costs $100 new. There are no signs of them being certified to meet any wheel standards.

It would be wise to stick with known reputable brands when it comes to wheels, so that the first pothole you hit doesn't leave you with a bent/broken wheel.

Thanks for your help! I am fully aware that it is better to stick with named brands. I simply don't have the cash to throw down on them. I might take a risk on these anyway unless you have a competitively priced alternative.

if you only have $500 to spend, I would avoid getting wheels. cheap wheels might be fine, but it also might have horrible consequences that would potentially result in death, or an expensive fix at the very least (probably exaggerating, lol).

Here's the warranty: http://www.carid.com/images/vision/w...n-warranty.pdf

"This Warranty shall not apply to:
1. Any defect, malfunction or failure caused by damage to wheels in transit, offhighway
use, or by abuse, misuse, accident or negligence."

Boom, useless. Won't cover a pothole.

Do yourself a favor and save a bit more for quality wheels.

Some "budget" examples from reputable companies.

Sparco Trofeo 5 made by OZ. 17x7.5 ET48 on closeout on TireRack for $120/wheel
Link

The TRMotorsports wheels are TireRack's house branded wheels but I've seen them used in competition. Fairly cheap too for a 17x8 at $119.
Link

You can also browse the classifieds here for some used wheels

Check these out my friend: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...odClar=Limited

Pretty much the exact same style as the ones you listed, plus they are on discount from $121 to $94 per wheel, they have good reviews, and they are sold on TireRack which is a very trustworthy site. Got these for my BRZ and they look great!

janky.

if i were you, i'd hold on to that $500 and save up a little more until $1k, and then find a set of used wheels/tires set of a reputable wheel that's actually been tested for safety standards. you can find a set of used enkeis, gramlights and other solid quality wheels in decent condition for $1k.

tirerack is the safe place to go for cheap aftermarket wheels. Plus there always seems to be some variant of Sparco wheels for $100 a wheel. Sparco is made by OZ, so you can trust they'll be quality.

Thanks for all y'all's help! I think I am pretty settled on getting these rota torques (clones of the works emotion)
Yes I know they aren't as good as the real deal but from the research I did they seem to be great wheels for the money and damn they look good.
