So what are the substantial advantages going to be besides weight reduction and strength? My car is at the shop now and they are going to be installing the Whiteline roll correction kit and a whiteline bushing in the front lower control arms. Wondering if the benefits would justify sending those parts back and ordering these.

This SPL FLCA basically obsoleted quite a few parts on the market for an "unlimited" application. For example, the CSG BRZ has sphericals pressed into the OEM arm; the SPL FLCA does that, for the same price as the bushings and installation labor alone, and more.

The SPL FLCA also allows for *camber adjustment*, caster adjustment, and eliminates two rubber bushings in the front. Combined with a spherical mount top hat/camber plate, you have a zero compliance bushing front.

While it's not cheap, it's a REALLY good value for what it does.

I should totally budget for this when switching out my suspension. SPL FLCA, SPL RLCA and JRZ Coilovers hmm.. oh gawd I can only dream.

Is SPL planning on making an aluminum version of these too? I'm interested, but dont want to pay for titanium.

Also, how much camber and caster adjustment do these allow for?

From what I've seen of SPL products and what's pictured here, the amount of titanium components is actually pretty small, a couple nuts and washers. The major piece parts, rods/arms, joints, and bolts are usually typical aluminum and steel. I'd be surprised if SPL could discount the parts by more than $20-$50 by swapping out all the Ti hardware.

The money goes into engineering, quality control, marketing, and compensating for relatively small production runs. Like their rear lower control arm, I'm positive the big black arms SPL makes are standard 6061 anodized Aluminum for both their lower control arms on the 86.

Another thing to consider is upper mount.



The SPL lower arm can be paired with a solid upper mount like the ones pictured above, so that you can get 1) max camber/caster flexibility in the front, and 2) a suspension setup that won't move around on you.

Or, if you want to go uber stance 9000, this combo setup allows you to go wild in the front.

@strat61caster is correct; the key points are titanium, and the rest is primarily aluminum.
