TOM's Depo US Spec query
I've recently been given a US spec version of the TOM's tail lights with the red lens as shown below, I'm in the UK and the issue is that the turn signals are red which isn't road legal.
![]() my query was if the LED's are red themselves or is it just the lens being red as I would just swap the lens from the standard unit so it's clear if however the LEDs are red does anyone know the exact type of LED I need so I can try find some amber ones |

they were free so I don't mind spending a couple quid on some LEDs to sort it out rather than the hassle of selling it to someone in another country where they would be legal
I accepted them on the basis I'd likely need to do some modification (was initially going to modify a standard set to be different until these came up as a free alternative) |

I am 90% sure the LED's are red. I had the clears (now I have the reds) and I believe the turn signals were red. I did not really pay attention to them at the time though so my memory is a bit fuzzy.
EDIT: nevermind, I might have read your post wrong. there's still the red cover even in the clear TOM's tail lights. here is a comparison video (left is the red TOM's and right is the clear lens TOM's): [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g3ySzU19UQ"]Tom's Clear DOT Tail Lights - Overview and comparison to Tom's original DOT red tail lights - YouTube[/ame] both still have a red cover over the LED's. the JDM version also has the red cover over the LED's. I am not sure if there is a UKDM version, but I don't think there is.

Only USDM are different, JDM is the same as UKDM and everywhere else.
Sam, your best bet is to see whether you can even open them up and get at the components. The OEM rears have to be cut apart, so not sure if these would be an easier process. And even then the LEDs might be an area to change individually if at all possible.
