Question Is tire pressure different for USA TRD 18" wheels?

I was able to pick up a set of used USA TRD 18 inch staggered wheels and Michelin PSS tires for a good price last week...

I seem to recall that there is a different recommended tire pressure for this setup, and that TRD equipped cars came with a sticker applied over the stock factory recommended pressures.

Can someone supply a picture of the TRD sticker for tire inflation pressure?

Thanks!

Sorry I didn't see your question sooner. Answered your PM.

Will leave this here for those who need the info.

This is a TRD sticker that's supposed to cover the original one on the door pillar when the 18's are installed.

Part number MDC P/N 00602-18130

Thank you so much!!!

Armed with this information, I attempted to buy this sticker. The Toyota dealerships I called (3!) claim it is not a part they can order. I called the Toyota Material Distribution center - they verify that the part number is correct and that it is in stock, but they cannot sell to end customers, only dealerships. Oh well, at least now the information is available!!!

Maybe just sidewall to wheel ratio is smaller... Hence more air. Wide guesses. 🌭

+ the fact that setup is slightly staggered so front is gonna have more weight on it under breaking.

DYMO label maker FTW!

Really the only reason to have the label is so that whenever the car is serviced they do not do me any "favors".

My guess is to offset the extra grip of the tires and retain more of the native handling...

For that matter, the 35 PSI for the rears on a wider tire is effectively a higher pressure! (e.g same pressure over a larger area...)

That's my armchair physicist analysis, and I'm sticking to it.

It definitely makes a difference, at least with the Continental DW's- if you run equal pressure, the setup tramlines like a bastard on grooved pavement.

Two pounds difference is enough to completely change the tracking. That three pound difference between front and rear keeps the steering much more sharp than equal pressure front to rear, too.

Well, this is the "official" TRD configuration. Nobody says you have to go this way, but this is how it comes if you purchase it when you buy the car.

They are typical USA TRD parts - a bit more show than go. For me they are a vast improvement from the stock tire and wheel setup... granted that is a pretty easy goal to meet!
