How complicated is a diff install?

I've got a built pumpkin to install, and I'm wondering if I should give some business to a smaller shop or if it's an involved enough process that should go to a more established shop.

If anyone who's done it cares to comment, I'd appreciate it.

Know how to adjust backlash?

If you don't know how to, have a professional do it.

If you do, the install is quite easy.

final drive is already installed in diff, just need diff installed on car.

3) pry out axles (but not remove it out completely
4) drain oil (or do it earlier)

I just swapped mine back to stock on Tuesday in about 30 minutes of work with a lift.

missing one very important step

When you put the axles in, make SURE the openings in the C-clips are facing down, otherwise you could hammer it into oblivion and it still won't go in. When it's right it will pop in with the heel of your hand, when it's wrong it won't go in with a 10 pound sledge.
