Deep rattle/vibration in 1900-2500 RPM Band

Hi guys,

The exhaust setup at the moment is PSR UEL Headers and Overpipe with a Berk HFC Front Pipe. Previously with just the PSR UEL Headers and Overpipe I had no issues. After I had installed the front pipe I've been getting some sort of deep rattle/vibration from behind me, kinda like a reverberating trombone noise between 1900-2500 RPM. It becomes very apparent from 1900 RPM and slowly dies down from 2500 RPM onwards.

I will be checking under the car over the next few days to check if everything's been installed and tightened correctly but are there any theories on what it could be?

I'd bet money on overpipe hitting/rubbing crossmember.

I know it sounds like it's coming from behind you... That's interesting. Doesn't fit the problem...

All speculation is meaningless until someone gets under there and checks for contact.

I almost guarantee this issue is a clearance issue.

You removed the heimholtz in the stock fp that's tuned for this exact rev range.
Is it vibration or is it valve overlap noise? They're two entirely different problems.

It's definitely a vibration/deep rattle sound.

While this may not be the issue for you, it was with me.

I installed a JDL uel header and a quarter sized section was in contact with the skid plate. I took the skid plate off and banged it with a hammer and now I have no issues.

Was your issue with a specific RPM band as well or across the board?

I swapped out my stock catback for a Blitz Nur Spec C-Ti catback on the weekend and the rattle is now gone. Perhaps it was just a resonance issue with the stock catback?
