Squeaky Clutch when depressed!

Hey guys! 2014 frs, recently I noticed when I depress the clutch when the car is stopped (turned off) there is that annoying squeak at the end when the clutch is fully pressed. The sound is only there at the end of the travel, cant hear it when the car is on.

Went through other forums, you guys think its the TOB? car is 49K km.

Thanks!

Yup, took mine a few weeks of hard driving to finally explode lol. Dropping the transmission is pretty straight forward, but if you're paying a shop might as well put a clutch in while it's all apart.

Well, my guess it might be the clutch fork is dry and needs a dab of grease.

Mine squeaks when I fully press the clutch in, but it is definitely in cabin squeak. I think it is something in the clutch pedal assembly like a spring or lever joint.

It's likely where the slave cylinder piston pivots in the clutch fork, or inside the trans where the clutch fork meets the transmission ball pivot. Both of those points have grease, and there's tons of people on this forum who start to have a squeaky pedal around 20k miles, myself included.
If it was throwout bearing I'm pretty sure you'd hear it when the car is on, from what I've read.

(I've verified with an automotive stethoscope that I had noise from the slave, AND from the clutch fork pivot point inside the tranny)

TL;DR you likely just need some lube on the fork.

So I was able to grease the part outside the tranny. Do I need to lube inside the tranny where the fork sits?

Well, if it's still squeaking and that in fact is what is squeaking, I reckon so.

I don't know if it's possible to sneak in there without taking out the transmission or not.

I suggest you review some threads to try to find out if it is possible.

Back-in-the-day I used to ....... NEVERMIND (you just might get oil on the clutch disk....).

Meanwhile, I'll put out a APB for anyone that can help.

APB - clutch fork lubrication info needed.............

Yes.

Detach the slave cylinder so you can remove the boot between the clutch fork and bell housing. You do not have to mess with the hydraulic hose. Leave that alone.

The backside of the fork pivots against a pin just inside the bell housing. You can reach back there and feel it. Get a gob of grease in there with your finger, a coat hanger, whatever.

Reinstall the boot. You can't get any deeper without dropping the trans.

Now being careful to keep the slave piston from falling out, remove the boot and rod from the cylinder. lube the piston-facing side of the pin and reinstall the boot. Get a dab of grease in the top pivot of the clutch fork and reinstall the cylinder.

Although greasing may help you may never be able to get rid of all the sounds made by the clutch system when the car is turned off. The system is designed to function properly when the car is running and without the various bushings, bearings and other components spinning and lining things up you are pushing the linkage against resistance it normally doesn't have when running.
Just how much do you push the clutch in with the car shut off that the noise is "annoying" anyway?
