17x9 +45 rubbing fender liner with coilovers
Is it normal for this size wheels to rub with coils(not installed anymore)?
Is it an alignment issue? You can see on the inside of the wheel it rub around the whole wheel and on the wheel weight. The thing is I couldn't find anywhere else it was rubbing except on the fender liner. Didn't see any contact on the coils or suspension parts. Maybe it's an issue when on full lock. The other side has the same rubbing not quite as bad as this side though. You have an alignment issue. You should not need spacers at all for this

Also, how low are you? If you go too low, you will rub.

I'm not sure what's worse in this section - the questions missing (most of) the relevant information, or the garbage feedback (typically) from low post count members...
I digress, the inside of your wheel is not rubbing your fender liner. Your tire is rubbing your fender liner. You didn't tell us your tire size, alignment specs, coils used (or pics), or ride height. Thank you, come again.

Did you check the control arm? The fender liner won't do that to the wheel. It is rubbing something metal. Most likely control arm.

17x9 +45 rubbing fender liner with coilovers
I run the same offset but 18x9.5 with 255/35 tires and only rub the fender liner at full lock right.
I'm running Cusco sway bars right now but when I had eibach's the inside tire of the passenger side would come in contact with it on full lock right turns as well. My alignment specs are -2.4 and 0 toe in front and lowered about .75 inches on kW v3's Might what to check end links and sway bar to see if there are any marks and maybe the spring perches. I'm on the same offset but 18x8.5 in the front, 235/35, lowered about 1.5 inches, 2.2 degrees camber and just a tiny bit of toe out. No rubbing for me

Weird, I don't usually see both kinds of wheel weights used on the same wheel. |

So I'm going to disagree a little and suggest it isn't metal on metal... Unless it's pretty thin and flexible. The wear pattern at the weight is different, so that has to be successfully pushing whatever causes the wear away while not being torn off.
That said, the wear is really oddly placed. Steering turnbuckle seems most likely. There may be enough bushing flex to behave as noted with the weight. |
